Quiltique …Sew Unique Henderson, Nevada

When the family starts a business and grows it together, you get one of the top quilt shops in the country, according to Better Homes and Gardens. Bob and Jan Tibesar, along with daughters Kara Tibesar and Jennifer Albaugh, started Quiltique in 2003. Located just three miles from Interstate 515, this is a wonderful shop to explore.

Start with the fabric. There are over 7,000 bolts on hand, ranging from batiks to solids and blenders to delightful prints. There is Kaffe Fassett, Tula Pink, and a great selection of wide backs. Fat Quarters are above their bolts – one of my favorite arrangements, as it makes it so easy to find them! Panels are available, as well as charm packs, jelly rolls, and layer cakes. Don’t miss the great selection of fat quarter bundles, as well as kits for complete quilts. Cork is here as well.

While you are drooling over the fabric – figuratively, of course – don’t forget to admire the samples. They are displayed on the walls, above shelves, and anywhere else they can be shown. Kits are available, as well as a lot of patterns. Laura Heine’s collage patterns are here as well. Don’t care for the kit fabric selection? Make your own kit with your choices. The staff would be more than happy to help with this endeavor.

Finally, look over the machines and cabinets. Quiltique is a registered Bernina dealer, and also carries Koala Cabinets. Take some time to look these over and decide if one of them needs to follow you home. Isacord embroidery threads are also featured.

Plan to be here for 45 minutes to an hour to see everything

Cool looking shop….7,000 bolts. It would be hard to make a decision with that many choices.
